Salas O’Brien’s coast-to-coast team has designed retail facilities for the ever-changing needs of both national chains and regional shopping destinations. Here are two projects added to our portfolio by our San Diego team.
The Citadel Outlets
As the only retail outlet center in and around the area, the Citadel Outlets are a premier shopping destination for Los Angeles residents and tourists. The mega-center includes over 130 shops, and it is easily accessible from both the city’s downtown and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.
The Citadel Outlets’ growing popularity led its developers to invest in an addition and expansion, and our team provided mechanical and plumbing engineering design services for the project. The new construction portion of the project added 35 stores to the outlets, including Nike, Under Armour, Coach, H&M, Ralph Lauren, and Corning. Our engineers completed mechanical and plumbing designs for these as well as various tenant improvements to existing spaces. These designs enabled the property to reach an overall energy efficiency that was 15% better than baseline—an achievement that earned the property owner a $250,000 rebate from Southern California Edison.
The Outlets at Traverse Mountain
Located just south of Salt Lake City, Utah, the Outlets at Traverse Mountain occupy 50 acres of a master-planned development and feature highly popular retail brands like Michael Kors, Under Armour, Calvin Klein, and Nike. Salas O’Brien’s team designed the mechanical and plumbing systems for the shell and most of the tenant improvements for Phase 1 of these outlets’ construction. Our team’s work encompassed 225,000 square feet of the space, including the 12,000-square-foot central entrance, upscale public and family restrooms, and radiant heated walkways.
